The biennial statewide elections in Massachusetts typically present voters with one or more ballot questions that propose new laws, constitutional amendments, or the repeal of existing laws. The 2022 election presented four such questions. This new program takes a behind-the-scenes look at how such questions come to be on the ballot and what makes the campaigns for and against the various proposals successful.
The program is useful to anyone interested in learning more—from the vantage points of key players in the process—about how to propose or oppose ballot questions.
