    Product Description

All proceeds from this program will go to the Hon. Edward M. Ginsburg Scholarship Fund.

During his time on the bench and after, Judge Ginsburg would stress the importance of settling family law cases. In his memory, we have put together a program that focuses on the potentially devastating impact on children and families when cases are litigated rather than settled.

Leaders in the field provide evidence-based developmental guideposts and parenting protocols to convince skeptical clients that agreeing to custody and parenting plans are in their and their children’s best interest. Our panel guides participants through practical strategies to avoid judicial intervention, resolve family disputes on terms that recognize family dynamics and finances, and minimize future litigation.
When it comes to complex financial matters in a marital dissolution such as business valuation, equity-based compensation, and other illiquid assets, this program focuses on techniques to promote settlement. Experts provide tangible examples of the longterm financial ramifications of prolonged legal battles. We discuss formats of resolving differences in independent experts, discuss how and when joint experts can be utilized, and various formats to facilitate settlement.

Our speakers provide a nuanced understanding of the emotional toll and long-term consequences in the realm of child custody and financial settlements. The faculty equips you with the tools necessary to advocate for your clients’ best interests while promoting the benefits of settlement even when the litigants are reluctant to attempt to reach agreement. By exploring successful settlement techniques and dissecting the pitfalls of contentious litigation, our faculty will make you catalysts for positive change in the lives of their clients and their families, emphasizing the enduring value of settling family law cases out of court for all parties involved.

For those attending in person, there will be a wine and cheese reception after the program!
